NETS-T Standard 3: Model Digital-Age Work and Learning

Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:

A. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.

Technology is an ever-evolving resource that is utilized in the classroom. Because of this, these instructional designs were created to be part of a class that informs teachers on why it is important to implement technology in their classrooms as well as how they can utilize these new devices.

B. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.

This Wikispaces page was created in collaboration with three colleagues in order to teach the rest of our colleagues about technology in education. As a group we collaborated and shared ideas, worked with the digital resources and supported each other to make sure that we all understood the material. We then posted our page so that the other members of our class could successfully learn the information.

C. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats.

This project enables teachers to collaborate with each other in order to gain insight into how they can effectively use digital tools to support student success. It also uses a variety of digital formats to communicate relevant information. This project would be used in a class that is aimed towards teaching teachers why it is important to integrate the use of technology into the classroom as well as how that can be effectively accomplished.

D. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.

This paper models for the students, how the internet and online databases can be effectively used to locate information on a given topic. It also demonstrates how current digital tools were used to aid me in analyzing, evaluating, and using the information that I found to support my further understanding of the topic. This paper would be used as a model for students to use while they are writing their own research papers.
